Our Policies

Ages from 10 month and older. Your child will learn and play in a fun, loving and supportive environment, nutritious lunches and snacks, naptime, indoor/outdoor activities.

If you like our Daycare you need to apply application before I can assume the responsibility of caring for your child.

Our Daycare is open 52 weeks each year.We operate from Monday to Friday, 7:00a.m to 6:00p.m (except of Christmas Eve and New Year Eve, when the daycare is closed). If the event that your child is not picked up by 6:00p.m, a late fee will be charged. This fee will be due and payable upon your arrival.

When your child is not picked up by 6:15 p.m. and we have not received a telephone call; we will attempt to contact either parent. If we are unable to reach either parent, we will try calling the emergency contact person.

Child Care will be close on the following statutory holidays:

January           - New Year’s Day
February          - Family Day
April               - Good Friday
May                - Victoria Day
July                - Canada Day
August            - Civic Holiday
September       - Labour Day
October           - Thanksgiving Day
December        - Christmas and Boxing day

NOTE: Even though the daycare is closed for statutory holidays, regular fees still apply for those days.

To allow your child to benefit from the program and feel part of the group, we ask that you bring your child in before 9:00a.m. We ask that parents call us if a child will be joining the program after 9:00a.m., otherwise the teacher will assume your child is absent.
If your child has a morning doctor’s appointment, we ask that you arrive no later then 12:00p.m. so your child can join us for lunch.

Remember to always say "good-bye” to your child when dropping him/her off. Sneaking out the door only upsets your child further. Letting your child know that you are leaving and coming back later promotes trust and reassurance in your relationship.

Children will be allowed to leave the daycare only with their parents or those adults designated on the emergency form.

If your child is not feeling well during the day, we will give you’re a call to let your know. Depending on the symptoms of illness, you could be asked to pick up your child. Your child cannot attend a daycare with the following illness or symptoms:

1. Diarrhea, vomiting.
A child must be completely over their illness and be able to be eating their normal diet prior to returning to the daycare. Your child could only return after a 24 hour period.

2. Fever of 99F or higher.
A child must be strong and in good health enough to participate in all daily activities prior to returning to the daycare.

3. Chicken Pox.
All pox has to be scabbed and dry prior to returning to the daycare. Usually takes up to two weeks.

4. Lice.
A treatment of lice shampoo must be administered. All nits (eggs) must be combed out of the hair in order for your child to return to the daycare. Sometimes it takes a few days until all nits are out.

*** A doctor’s note is required when a child is away with any above and/or contagious illness and has been away for 3 days or more. That note has to indicate why your child was absent and a date when he/she can return to the daycare.

*** Childcare fees still apply even though your child is away with illness.

Childcare fees are paid in advance, payable weekly on Monday. The first payment is paid for two weeks in advance (first and last weeks).

Two weeks notice of withdrawal is necessary when a child is to be withdrawn from the daycare so that his or her space can be given to someone else.

Infant children:
Parents must to provide diapers, wipes, creams, formula and extra clothes.

Toddler children:
It is up to provide diapers, wipes, creams and extra clothes.

Clothing

It is helpful that your child be dressed in comfortable, washable clothing that is suited for both classroom and outdoor activities. For creative spills or mishaps, we request that you leave extra clothes at the daycare at all times. We ask that you clearly label all of your child’s clothing : i.e. coats, shoes, boots, hats, pants, etc.

Summer month:
We request that you provide your child with appropriate clothing to protect him/her from the sun’s rays. A sun hat for outdoor play is required daily, sunglasses are not safe and are not accepted. Parents are responsible for providing waterproof sunscreen with a minimum 30SPF for their children. Parents must to apply sunscreen every morning then the teacher will apply again in the afternoon before outdoor activities.

Winter month: All children need to be dressed warmly for outdoor play during the winter month. On cold days, snowsuits, boots, hats and warm, waterproof mittens are required (extra mittens are essential).

Toys and other personal belongings from home

Children and parents are asked to keep all special toys/activities at home. We worry about them getting destroyed or lost at the daycare.

Rest time

Your child’s day is full of many active learning experiences. A "rest period” is schedule each day to give your child a chance to relax and rejuvenate after a busy morning. After one hour of rest, if the child is awake, he/she can read books quietly on their bed or engage in an activity at a table.

Child Care is Nut-Free, therefore, no products that contain peanuts, nuts of any kind or any nut by-products will be served to our child. Any products or items that contain the label "may contain traces of nuts” are not to be brought into our daycare. This includes items from any bakeries or donut stores that cannot guarantee that their products are nut-free. Please help to keep our children safe by checking all labels of any food or snacks you send in with your child.
